Build Bridges

Build Bridges

This very short (2.2h) game is quite fun. Buyed in a bundle so price was more then ok. Last two achievents are bugged. I must play level 40 twice for “First-rate engineer”, but “Around the world” did not fire. Even that “First-rate engineer” should not done without “Around the world”. The achievements stats confirm this. “First-rate engineer” percentage is higher then “Around the world”. Or maybe there is an hidden level?

A pretty simple, but fun game. It takes about 2 hours to 100% all achievements. Note that one of the achievements is bugged, but can easily be unlocked by following the solution on one of the community forums posts.

Reassembly

Reassembly

Alrrrrrright, Reassembly. I seriously think this is my favorite video game of all time.

What is so great about it?

  • The concept of the engineering design process is the core idea of the game.

You build and control a ship, you quickly find out it’s bad, and you improve it until it is both unbeatable and unbearable, and it is the greatest feeling in the world.

  • Then you realize that tournaments exist, and you are introduced to a whole new way of designing ships. Your ships are so powerful now that (vanilla) campaign mode is simply too easy. However, you will find out that your ships are far from up to par in the tournament scene, and you must improve to be competitive. And, of course, you do. You improve a lot. you can no longer design ships that you can play well; you must now design ships the questionable Reassembly AI can play well. You participate in tournaments to find out who is the best at coming up with interesting new strategies, who is the best at actually executing those strategies, who is, well, the best. And you have loads of fun along the way. i mean, you could also find a way to make your ship glitch out of the tournament arena, making everyone die inside, but that’s a topic for a future discussion.

I usually never write reviews, but, Reassembly is one of the few games I give a hugely positive review on.

While sandbox-style of games may not fit and or belong to everyone, to people who do enjoy taking the time to build (And fly), this game is amazing.

The game by itself is good, as you can either play the slow expansion way as your faction’s control grows, or you can play the agent-hunter and wormhole way, racking up credits at break-light speeds. All the factions themselves have their own uniqueness. As playing every faction the same way will never work.

Captain Forever Trilogy

Captain Forever Trilogy

I want to write a lot more about this game, but I am not a games-journalist so I’ll keep it brief.

I love this series, I loved the originals, and that love extends wholeheartedly to this collection as well. While that may give me rose-tinted glasses, this game will buy you a pair for sure.

The gameplay is tight, responsive, and non-stop. You will not get a chance to catch a breather, and if that’s your fetish then welcome to the pain-pit. You will have dizzying highs, only to be brought low suddenly when a girder in your ship gets blown up- along with the entire rear end of your ship. It sounds bull, but you’re in control of the design of your ship and the skill in piloting that particular design. In this way the game has enormous replay potential, especially considering you can hijack the info buoy in successor by building a cage around it. Free thrust! More spawn but I’ve never been able to capture more than one.

this game is space lego. depending on the ONE of THREE games ya pick you have varying options.

the oldest and truest one, Captain Forever has guns, armor, and thrusters. there isn’t much varriation within your loadout, but it’s how you use it, how it’s blown to peices, and how you deal with scary situations that transform a good game into a great one. captain forever is fairly well balanced. even when stepping up from Foxtrot to Golf, you can feel “safe enough” to go ballsdeep and have a fun time

Goblin Takes No Argument[s]

Goblin Takes No Argument[s]

Goblin Takes No Argument ~~was a school project in pygame we made in 2019. We picked it up again in 2020, and thought it could be fun to try and get it on steam.

Features of the game

  • Place towers to destroy the goblins

  • Upgrade towers to get even more powerful

  • Sell towers to place even better towers

  • Different types of goblins to make the game a little harder

Controls

  • Press ‘R’ on the keyboard to toggle visibillity of the towers range

  • Right click on the mouse to sell towers at half the price

  • Left click existing towers to upgrade - An upgrade is successful if the range indicator turns orange it cost twice as much as the base price of the towers~~

Incredipede

Incredipede

You might be looking at this game and thinking “Wow, that’s one unique game!”, but the most unique aspect of this game is that the achievements ask you to do things in the real world.

This game wants you to go outside and explore your own backyard. It wants you to look closely at the insects and plants that you probably haven’t looked at since you were very young kids.

That is amazing.

I recommend taking a break to do an achievement anytime you get stuck on a level, and then go back to laughing out loud at the acrobatics of your creature.

This is the exact definition of incrediphillia. One of the best indie games on steam without a doubt. There are no physic engine based games that can compare to Incredipede. I’m sure most of you have played some sort of flash game some place where the whole point is to create some sort of contraption, building, or any kind of construct. What I think makes this stand apart from the rest is the mere fact you create a simple character with odd physics, like some sort of construct, with movable parts. You are really only limited to your own imagination. You can create pretty gnarly stuff and get through the various levels. The game itself has some replayability as well. The game allows you to do the levels on Easy, which gives you a premade design to finish the levels, and then you have the Hard mode, which starts you off with the base of the character Quozzle, which is just her round eye. By the way, when you finish the game, don’t fret. There is a level editor included in the game. You can create some fun levels and you can share them with your friends as well. I really can’t think of any negative things the game has. It is a pretty solid title, and I believe the price is just right for such a game. With that I say, whatever you do this Summer, it won’t be as fun as Incredipede. All bugs wish they could have as many limbs as the gal in this game. Every purchase of this game helps fund research for limb growth of bugs, so open those wallets to make their life easier.

Legion Gold

Legion Gold

Really cool - suits me down to the ground. I had never played this (or even really heard about it back when it was released) so it was a new experience entirely.

Battles are simple - you give your troops a placement, a formation and advance/hold orders. When battle begins, you have no direct control over your units, in what the manual describes as an accurate depiction of a large-scale battle where commanders could not adequately give orders in the heat of the fray. When setting up your regiments, however, you do have to take into account the terrain your soldiers will be fighting on, and it’s necessary to refer to the included manual on this.

If you like this type of game, it is still fun to play.

Yes 8 hours is not much as yet. However i have played SPARTAN on retail version many hundreds of hours.

LEGION is what I expected it to be, similar to SPARTAN in gameplay, interface, and visuals. I has less depth than SPARTAN, as the latter has a more elaborate diplomacy, more and different types of resources, a trade option and a tech tree.

Buy it on sale though, scenarios are limited and there is no grand campaign feature to conquer the ancient world.

PLEASE ADD THIS!

Please add more metals, also let us melt and mix metals

Also make it so you can damage the cooled metals

Add more entities, humans might be hard but I’d like to be able to cattle

Let us cook meat from cattle and feed it to (If you add) humans

Add a boiling mechanic

Oh and PLEASE make it easier to move the camera, it’s just annoying and the middle mouse button is good at it

There needs to be a feature saying “Are you sure you want to leave?” I spent hours of work and tried to press the button to open the tab to save it. Pressed the wrong one and lost hours of work. Hate it.

Edit: OK, onto the real review

Its actually really fun. Like people playground but not violent at all.

I love to build in this game, i like making garden machinery.

Actually great!

Jewel Match Solitaire

Jewel Match Solitaire

Not at all what I was looking for. I wanted a simple game that offered many different solitaire games. Jewel Match Solitaire listed many of those different games on its page, so that’s what I thought I was getting. Instead I got:

– Biggest frustration is that game freezes when the window loses the focus. It restarts when it gets the focus again, but slows things down needlessly and since I wanted card games to play on the side while multitasking, basically defeats the purpose for me

– Limited settings. Can’t turn off the confirmation windows and considering they’re animated, it’s that much more annoying to wait for the window to drop and stop bouncing before being able to say yes I’m sure.

*My reviews do consider the significance of gameplay, story, music, etc. before I assign a score (e.g. walking simulators don’t have much emphasis on gameplay, but I wouldn’t let that reflect negatively on the individual game being reviewed).

King Arthur’s Gold

King Arthur’s Gold

I’ve decided to delete my old review about this GREAT game, as it was a bit outdated.

If you are confused with these short positive reviews and utter BS negative ones (most of them. I can accept others opinion, but most of them are reviews made by salty kids who didn’t bother to give this game more than an hour before making a review about it) and have stumbled upon this one, hopefully i could make things a bit clearer and help you decide, whether to buy it or not.

This game is very unique, you’ve played nothing like this before, I am absolutely sure in that and can safely guarantee it to you. Great medieval age battles, easy to learn, but hard to master. You can choose from 3 well balanced classes: Knight, Archer and Builder. Basic game modes, which you’ll be playing the most are: Capture The Flag, Take The Halls, Team Death Match and Sandbox. There are also modded servers, where you can literally face ANYTHING, from zero gravity space lazer wars to Zombie survival with modern wargear. Battles are really epic and intense, so you won’t get tired of the game in the near future.

UPD 31.01.2018. Now you cant even complain about useless teammates, since official servers enforced chat censorship. If before you could easily disable chat filter in game’s settings, if you wish so, now - nope, THINK ABOUT CHILDRENS. I wonder, how deep this sjw train will go this time…

UPD 29.09.2017. Now you also can get chat bans on official servers for complaining about useless teammates (which is true for 95% of time). Well done, literally the best possible thing to do, in order to revive this game!
