Jungle Town: Birthday quest

Jungle Town: Birthday quest

Got this game with my just turned 6 year old daughter and she loved it! Played it through to the end, then half of it again. Clean art with interesting characters, neat animation, and fun music. Puzzles that are good for kids, also really showed her allot about using a mouse (probably would be great on a touch screen). There was one little bug where a piece that was required wasn’t selecting (Raccoon level with wood piece), but on reloading it worked fine. The clothing design selection and cutting was a particularly fun one for her. We saw the to be continued at the end, and would gladly get the sequel (it ifs in the works), great work to the devs on this, good to see some kid content on steam.

Tale of six

Tale of six

An interesting game with an unusual idea. If you like hard platformers (but you have to be ATTENTIVE, and sometimes you have to think) or you want to try your luck, then this game is for you.

Simple graphics, but was a well made and challenging platformer.

Cutie Bear

Cutie Bear

This is my first negative review, and I’m really sad that it has to be this game. This game looks really good, the physics are ok, the graphics are just fine, the music is a little meh, but tolerable, and the controls aren’t clunky. This is exactly the type of platformer that I would really enjoy under normal circumstances. But the game is also absolutely relentless and unfair.

I found a way to get an infinite amount of lives (and even made a guide about it, check it out if you still decide to try out this game), and suffice it to say, 200 lives weren’t enough for me to beat the game (I don’t even know how close I was to achieve this, cos I just decided to quit).

Fall of Porcupine

Fall of Porcupine

FALL OF PORCUPINE is a unique story adventure. The collision of work and daily life – an exciting reflection of an unhealthy system.

In the supplemental LAST DAYS OF SUMMER we guide young Finley through his first weeks at a provincial hospital. He is on fire for his apprenticeship as an internist. But a lot of pressure makes Finley’s life difficult and our gameplay challenging.

Explore A Beautiful, Diverse World

Not only is there a lot to discover in the old hospital, but also in the small town itself. There you can meet the villagers and have a beer with them in the pub. Or you can take a trip to the nearby forest, where mysterious castle ruins are hidden.

Get to Know Exciting Characters

The blunt head doctor, the selfless nurse or Finley’s smart friend, they all and many other residents populate the small town of Porcupine. Have funny, profound and serious dialogues with them, in which you’ll be able to choose answers and influence your relationship with them.

Demonstrate Your Skills and Empathy

You don’t even have time to look at the clock because your patients are waiting! Find out what’s wrong with them through conversations and treat them in different minigames that challenge you in logic, speed and skill. And most importantly, withstand the stress when the strict head doctor asks about your knowledge again.

Uncover Dark Secrets

At first glance, the small town is a warm, friendly place where everyone knows and greets each other. But if you live there for any length of time, you’ll suspect that shadows lurk and that not everyone is as honest as they pretend to be. Be on guard!

Am Madness

Am Madness

If you are a fan of either old school platform games (like me - I grew up alongside Manic Miner and Miner 2049er), or just enjoy getting your butt handed to you on a plate, you will appreciate this gem of a game.

The developer was obviously aware that it’s hard (no harder than the old-school platformers were, though), so has thankfully

a) provided an ‘easy’ mode where the you get an extra life each level (up to a certain point in the game) and b) dispensed with the falling damage that made the old games so frustrating.

Am Madness is a somewhat difficult game for me to review. It’s released as a retro revival type game, taking it’s inspiration from ZX Spectrum classics like Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner, intending to capture the spirit of those titles but bring it into the modern age.

The reason that I find it difficult to review, is that I am not of that era of gaming. I don’t have any fond memories of that computer, so when I play a game that is intending to capture the essence of that period of gaming, it doesn’t click with me, I just don’t have the nostalgia.
