Embers of Mirrim
This is, hands down, the most fun I’ve ever had playing a platformer. The controls are crisp, the mechanics are unique and well thought-out, it’s visually attractive, and the music is great. The single biggest complaint I have about this game is that it’s too short. I finished it in about 5 hours. I would love to have seen the kinds of puzzles they could have put in a longer game.
The difficulty curve isn’t bad. It’s hard enough to be satisfying, but doesn’t get hard so fast that it’s frustrating. There is one puzzle that uses a mechanic that isn’t used anywhere else in the game, and it can be difficult to figure out what the game wants you to do, but other than that, the mechanics have good clarity and the puzzles are fairly intuitive.

I’ve been craving a linear platformer and this really scratched the itch. While I enjoy metroidvanias, I feel like I ’ve been inundated with them of late and I wanted something a little simpler and straightforward, like the NES platformers of yesteryear.
Embers of Mirrim is a very polished puzzle platformer with heavy emphasis on platforming and navigating between sections and light emphasis on puzzle elements. The splitting mechanic adds variety, and the game continues to introduce other small elements to keep the game fresh throughout.

Doomsday Hunters
This is a great game! If you love rogue lights this is the game for you! A middle ground between binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon. I Dracula Genesis delivers with fun and varying game play. The game really can be a challenge too! One of the best rogue likes in the making!
I honestly have to say this is in my top 3 games of all time. Great game!
I would like to see a lot more content at the end of the game. I want more challenges to push through with powerful endgame builds. Fields of mobs that come at me. Over the top bosses. As of right now it feels amazing to get a victory on this game on universe 3. It’s a lot of fun, but it also feels like it kind of robs you short like you want to take on another challenge. There is always another run though, and it is a very difficult game! If you give it a try get ready for some real adrenaline moments when things get close!

At this point I feel I’ve played and seen enough of this game to recommend it. I, Dracula: Genesis (that is a Kingdom Hearts tier name right there) seems to have inherited a lot of great design philosophy from its predecessors like Enter the Gungeon and Nuclear Throne, and it does the most impressive job of mashing them together I’ve so far seen in the rogue-‘ish’ genre.
The first thing that stands out to me is how solid the interactive physics and gameplay model is. Right from the get go, you feel a unique weight and chunkiness to movement and shooting, and it gives the gamefeel a flavour that distinguishes from its contemporaries. The addition of a jump mechanic, with elements of light platforming throughout, is a really fun addition to the ‘shoot stuff’ gameplay, though individual platforming challenges often leave me scratching my head wondering “how the heck am I supposed to reach that”.

Quick Rundown:
–———————-
The good: Gameplay mechanics are solid, if a bit simplistic.
The bad: Exceptionally difficult to find others to play with.
Verdict: A hopeful 6/10 in its current state. Fun for a quick romp but disappointed about not having enough friends to play with. Interface, matchmaking, and netcode need a few tweaks.
Potential: 8/10 with a solid-buy recommendation if matchmaking gets an overhaul. Once the multiplayer community gets up and running,

Retrograde Arena
I like this game. Reason: BULLETS!
Pros:
-It’s a Free-to-Play!
-It has DLC so you never stop playing! I haven’t bought them, so I can’t really confirm.
-The UI is…90’s?
Cons:
-Most of the time, users online is AI instead of actual users.
-The max player level is 20, and it appears that I’m the only player that has this level.
Suggestions:
-Game Mode: Survival. Free-for-All. Just like Last Man Standing; Instead of 5 wins, there’s lives instead(hosts can pick a certain amount from 1-20); It could use every map.

Put a few hours in guys before writing a review… I see a few negatives where they haven’t got the idea at all :D
Recoil is your friend not your enemy! - It is faster to move from your recoil than the actual movement controls (controls just add some fine tuning)
The gameplay is pretty much perfect, weapons are balanced and extremely varied. Imploder is a bit OP but it’s slow and can be dodged/deflected.
For the future I would like to see some team modes added, specifically CTF on a bigger map. The weapons would rly suit that mode, i.e sniper to camp your own flag, shotgun/mg to rush theirs. Boosting teammates with your own bullets etc! Maybe with one of the superweapons spawning in the middle of map.

Utopos
I previously bought Guntech/URG for VCS and PC, and so when I heard about a related multi-player game I was interested. It’s still on early access at the moment, so there are not so many players, and there are regular updates, but the author, Jani, is regularly on his Discord channel, and I’ve never dealt with a developer who listens so much to his international game players, and addresses their requests, feedback, and bug reports so quickly. The fact that it supports multi-platform including my Atari VCS is very good. The addition of bots makes it possible to spawn opponents when there are no players online, which I like. I hear that he’s tweaking the region options to make it easier to find and join games, and it will expand.

This game is a blast. Anyone purchasing this game is fully aware that it is an early access game, and that what we have is not the final product. There has already been numerous updates in game to address bugs, or other concerns. I see a big community building around the game already, and do not have any issues finding any games to play in, I’m not sure where that complaint is coming from. I think this is an amazing game, and will continue to play it every single day.

PERFECT MATTER
A twin stick shooter at its finest, definitely worth the buy!
Found out about the game through a subreddit and just working on some of the achievements now. Played through the whole game with keyboard + mouse, so don’t be worried if you don’t have a controller at hand, or don’t like the feel of one. Simple mechanics evolved into complex gameplay, and all in all a really unique experience.

A great twin stick shooter with an upgrade system that always keeps the game interesting and keeps your play style changing to suit each level and situation. I highly recommend for everyone to give this game a try. For the price you get a great bargain on an amazing game.

Swarm Arena
Do not be fooled by the steam store page, this game has fully implemented online play through the steam system. I bought it for it’s gameplay, and still enjoy it for that and it’s well done online laddering.
Not only are the controls solidly simple, but they also allow for quite a few physics based trickes to be pulled off. This results in gameplay that rarely gets dull and allows the player’s playstyle to clearly show in multiplayer matches.
– Real player with 5.7 hrs in game
This game is absolutely fantastic. After a while of searching for a multiplayer, fast-paced action game for a great price I came to this gem. The gameplay is fast but responsive and skillful, there isn’t a moment where you feel cheated by the controls. There’s not a flaw in this game and you could easily kill hours playing this. Would recommend.
It’s also a perfect price to gift a friend after you learn the skills then kick their butt.. until they get better than you xD
