Android Hunter A
The mechanics of the game were really good. The soundtracks were creative and unique. Controls are fairly easy to get used to and allows controller use, which was even easier. Wall jumping feels pretty good if you have decent controller skills. I like that you have customization options, seeing as most other platformer style games do not. There are a wide variety of enemies throughout the game that explore different ways to fight them. There are also quite a few secrets in the game that require some proficiency with the other weapons. The boss fights are unique. Definitely a game to check out if you’re a fan of the Megaman games, and a great game being this companies first major release. Can’t wait to see what else they come out with and improve on.

2.5d side scroller with selectable worlds, all with a different boss-enemy at the end to try to overcome. Lots of cool cosmetics to unlock as you scratch that mega old school itch, man!

I.O.R.C Impact Orbital Rescue Crew
A twist on the side scrolling shooter, in this game you have to fly around dealing with falling space junk.
I found this game quite challenging and there is a good amount of strategy involved in deciding what aspects to deal with first, such as putting out fires or breaking apart the debris.
I found it satisfying to finally beat a level, after a few attempts, adjusting my strategy to deal with the different types of falling wreckage.
Overall a challenging and fun game.

StarPrey
Made by an indie developer who wanted to create a commercial game in a week (or take a game jam game and refine it into a commercial game in a week). Starprey does not disappoint if your looking for a fast paced space dogfighting game. The game has been updated with better controls and extra health since launch which really help with the playability of the game. The controls are unique and the physics based walls make the game a lot different then just a normal space chase kind of game. For the price it is pretty fun game, however it can be difficult and those dang turrets are wayyy to accurate sometimes! 😊

I really enjoyed this game it may be short but it is really challenging. There are some minor things which could be improved like adding the setting to change the resolution. But for the price it is a really great game.

Phantom Beasts - Redemption
Phantom Beast is currently in development, and you can help us shape the game to make it reach its true potential. Join us on Discord, Twitter and Facebook today!
Phantom Beasts is a side-scrolling action game in 2.5D that mixes the fast-paced combat of the ‘shoot’em up’ genre with the emotion of training powerful creatures in a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk future.
You’ll take on the role of Hunter, a man who makes a living as a gun for hire in the streets of Saint Petersburg, Florida, in 2059. After his last job ended up being a complete mess, this ex law enforcer is compelled to confront a traumatic event from his past that has to do with the Phantom Beast phenomenon. There’s not a clear story about its origins, but most people think that these creatures are linked to the most recent nuclear disaster.
To fulfill his new mission, Hunter will dive into the most hellish neighborhoods of the city and face dangerous mutant gants and other Phantom Beasts trainers, as well as the corporate forces who will try to stop him from discovering the truth. Be ready to bash some heads with your gun and the help of your new feral companions!

UNDERZONE
i wanted to like this but the controls are horrible and the game is generally boring

A Forgetful Loop
Pros:
-
Simple mechanics that form some surprisingly complex levels
-
Writing is better than it has any right to be for a puzzle game
-
Music is top notch and rather catchy
-
Honestly peak gameflow
Cons:
-
Lost track of time during play, which is ironic really
-
Existential dread about the nature of quantum mechanics
Disclosure: Was a beta tester for this, but purchased my own copy on release

This is a great, fast-paced worker assignment puzzle. it’s a lot of fun! As someone who likes time management/cooking games where you have to frantically cook multiple meals at once, I took to A Forgetful Loop immediately. It has a few bugs, which can generally be solved by closing and reopening. The story sections (which are text only) are sad and stressful and sometimes kind of horrifying, but you can skip them if you want to. I reported a bug and the developers were very responsive and nice. I would definitely recommend this game if you like fast paced time-management worker assignment games.
