Mr. Prepper: Prologue

Mr. Prepper: Prologue

The Meta:

This is a free prologue, as a feature-limited demo of the full game which expands upon the content that was made available in the demo from July. You have absolutely no reason not to try this.

I’ve played rather extensively through the beta testing, and can attest that the devs are incredibly responsive to the player community, both for bug fixing and implementing player-suggested improvements or modifications, and I fully expect that behavior to apply to the full game.

The game includes no microtransactions.

Originally, I thought the prologue would end in 30 days at most, but later I found out that I was still too young and naive. On the first day of the second month, I angrily ate all my food. I have many cans which used all the money I made to buy, and with lots of blueberry milkshakes and carrot soup. It’s ridiculous that I didn’t have diarrhea after eating it all! Ok, I have to quit the game in dismay!

Talk about the advantages and shortcomings of this game. This game is still very creative, painting style is good, it is said that the official version has more content. In terms of content, the game is undoubtedly a success. But the game also has some shortcomings:

I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t sure if I liked it the first few hours but boy did I change my mind. I was expecting to actually have to survive in the shelter I created and see the aftermath of the wasteland left after the world goes to hell and I was puzzled as to why this sort of game play wasn’t added in but it’s still a fantastic base building , survival game and I hope they’ll add DLC in the future, where you’ll actually be able to survive in the bunker or even get to experience what happens after landing the rocket .

Mr. Prepper. A survival base building game that’s not about survival and not about base building but purely story-driven.

TL;DR: If you can get it cheap (10 USD/EUR), give it a shot. But if you want a survival challenge or expect another game like This War Of Mine, STAY AWAY. It has SO much unused potential. It could be so much more.

  • Interesting story. Mr. Prepper is not your average guy.

  • The typical “just one more day” game design that sucks you in.

  • 3 (4) NPCs you interact with that are all kinda likable.

Bit Orchard

This game is great. It is so therapeutic! I enjoy the chill nature of planting and cultivating my own orchard, and the additional challenges and tasks the game provides. It gives you the feel of playing an old Gameboy game, and brings back the nostalgia of a Tamagotchi pet as you have to care for your orchard each day.

I feel like the game is paced well, and grows along with the player. I would highly recommend, and it’s a great price.

I enjoy the simplistic nature of the game and would definently recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing game to play in order to kill time. The art style is great as well and I enjoy the gameplay loop.

I have a few recommendations to make this game better:

  • add a settings menu where you can set the musics volume and change the pallete to different white tones

  • add more interactions in order to keep the game engaging as it does get boring because there is not much to do at certain times in the game

Survival RPG 2: The Temple Ruins

Survival RPG 2: The Temple Ruins

Not very different from the first game in the series - ‘Lost Treasure’. Has some more crafting materials and more grind though. I liked it as much as the first game. The controls are ported over from the mobile version of the game so it pretty much feels like you are playing this game on the mobile. But as a fan of crafting and exploration RPGs, I don’t really mind that.

As its predeseccor, it is a nice simplistic adventure and survival game. It is a little bit more complex. I enjoyed it very much and hope for more in the future!

Survival RPG: The Lost Treasure

This is a nice simplistic adventure and survival game. I enjoyed it very much. It is rough or simple, but I like it very much. Actually I have played the two sequels, too. I hope for more in the future!

Quite good crafting adventure. Lots of crafting materials to gather and plenty of secrets to find. The game doesn’t look like much from the screenshots but it’s pretty good. Fighting mechanics could have been a bit better but it’s not bad. It is not a farming sim like stardew valley. It’s a crafting RPG. You pretty much get all the crafting materials instantly .. just lying around and respawning quickly. You kill enemies by swinging your sword. You can craft better weapons and armor as you get deeper into the game. Does not have hunger or similar mechanics for survival so the game allows you to take your time exploring. Looks like a mobile game ported to PC but keyboard or even controller should work ok with something like Joy2Key. Not bad for it’s price. I’m looking forward to the other games in this series that the developers have lined up for 2021.

Eternal Exodus

Eternal Exodus

Welcome to Hell, kid.

The afterlife isn’t what you expected. Sure, you can live forever here, but only if you stay in the good graces of those in power. And it’s looking like you won’t.

Luckily, you have a Subjugator: a forbidden wrist-worn device that allows you to summon demons.

  • 150 unique demons to catch and fuse

  • Form a party of up to 4 demons at a time

  • Fuse demons together to get a more powerful species of demon that inherits up to 4 of its parents' spells and skills

  • Craft weapons and armor for your demons

  • Sidequests to catch legendary demons

  • In classic 90s JRPG fashion, you’ll encounter a variety of minigames during your quest

  • Full English and Japanese support, with more languages coming soon

  • Built in a custom engine on top of Unity

Heavily inspired by franchises like Shin Megami Tensei and Pokemon, Eternal Exodus has a series of mechanics that, while easy to learn, offer depth and complexity. Catch demons in the wild, and fuse them with demons in your party to create stronger species of demons.

Through skill inheritance, you can fuse demons to end up with demons who otherwise wouldn’t naturally be able to learn the skills you give them. Want a Clammy that can cast Heal-All? Simply level up a Whisper to level 8 so it learns it, then fuse the Whisper with a Skullray to get a Clammy.

Book of Adventum

Book of Adventum

Book of Adventum is an indie action-adventure FPS. The game takes place in a steam-powered world where the player assumes the role of a handyperson tasked to repair a malfunctioning beacon. Book of Adventum combines the time-honored problem solving of adventure FPS games - shooting people in the face and getting through not-so-difficult puzzles - with metaphysical ponderings, which you can happily ignore. The art style of the game takes a deep bow to the genre originators from the mid-aughts with a cartoon-esque flair. Explore every cranny and nook of the open sandbox world, and that’s about 10 hours.

The soundtrack of the game includes tracks from mystical metal band KuuDelta and ambient master Cyborg See Cyborg Do.

Here’s how it’s going to be:
