I really want to give this a good review but I have only been playing for a bit (5h or so of play) and I think I am done? No progression, unlimited cash, most runs. If it goes no where then what is the point? I have done a few runs and it seems very limited in variety. ALso, fix the numbers, add notation or something to that at least we can see the big numbers. This game needs some work to be worth paying for.

Fun little game, needs lots more items and has some balancing issues and bugs

On my first game I have found Assembly Line + Stacking Use ‘em is very broken, add some above and below 10 free money and you can catapult into the stratosphere very quickly.

I ended up getting so much money I caused a buffer overflow plunging me into negative coin values XD

Would like to see more than 28 items, as you get to know all of them and which ones are useful and which are not very quickly.

Needs some more work to make the gameplay interesting for much longer than half an hour or so

Ryte - The Eye of Atlantis

The game probably has not been well tested. Every time I have problems with random items, I find something, I try to pick it up and put it in the bag and … the item disappears, it is neither in the bag nor in the game. Restarting the game helps miraculously and the item reappears in the game. This is the game’s biggest problem (not the only one). It’s hard to feel the story when you lose a key item every time and you need to restart. Oculus version.

Ryte - The Eye Of Atlantis - These guys went all out to create a “point and click” adventure that is similar to older point and click adventures like Myst but in the great new world of VR.

So just how are the puzzles? This game lives up to the hype of creating an experience similar to MYST of old school days. These are not simple and straight forward easy puzzles. The puzzles start easy enough but quickly they get into quite complicated out-of-the-box thinking to progress. It is an enjoyable and fun reminder of games that use to be.

Fine Sweeper

Fine Sweeper

50 hours in and I think it’s time to write a review. Been playing it on and off rather addictively for the last month or so, most of that due to my unrelenting addiction for minesweeper (and achievements) as well as just wanting to top those leaderboards to make my life seem less worthless…

This is the best minesweeper remake I’ve ever played, it is a hell of a lot better then the windows remake that was on the windows store (not sure if they actually made it) which was a tragedy.

Like that one this too had pickups, which is an obviously new addition to the classic minesweeper formula and whilst I was pretty skeptical at first it’s a very well incorporated addition unlike the other version. There is also classic mode where you only have 1 life and therefore you hit a bomb you die (just like in real life!).

It’s a good Minesweeper remake! There are dozens of levels now instead of just three, Steam leaderboards to show off with, and the options and controls are just like how you remember them. (Plus, it’s got a nice background track that sounds roughly like a cat playing Team Fortress 2.)

That being said, Minesweeper is much more boring than I remember it. It’s mostly just a game of matching: spotting which numbers on the board are equal to the amount of adjacent tiles or flagged mines. The only real puzzle aspect to Minesweeper comes when you’ve spotted all the possible matches, and the only way to progress is to use some deductive reasoning on the remaining numbers. But no matter how hard you try, if there are too many mines clustered together in the wrong way, you’re eventually going to have to start guessing, and that’s ultimately Minesweeper’s biggest downfall.

My first game played was Supaplex and I thought I’ll never ever play a clone of it with the same pleasure. But this is indeed very nice and it has unique complex levels.

Pro’s

  • I do like that I got to learn logic operators

  • I totally love the fox, super cute to look at

  • I enjoy the music

Con’s

  • More levels - like a free DLC would be nice

  • Preferable an editor - so I can make my own crazy levels

Keep it up!

CubeLines

CubeLines

CubeLines is balancing act. Taking a risk and go for the big score in one go or play it safe and steady. You can choose how you play it. There are no timers, take all the time you need for your next move or swing it and see how it goes.

By arranging 5 or more cubes in a line, you can clear them from the board but there is always those few that stay behind. It starts of easy; you think you have the control over the board but turn by turn it start to fill up.

Go for high score for longer games or complete a few challenges for a quick game. And for those moments when you simply want to relax there is an easy mode, to simply play!

DOUBLE INVASION!!

DOUBLE INVASION!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when launching the game. It turns out it’s a pretty good puzzle game in the vein of adventures of Lolo on the NES.

The puzzles are well designed and will test your sagacity and ‘thinking-out-of-the-box’ capacity.

There are boss levels too which are working well.

The crude graphics work hand in hand with the stupid story to give the game a zanny feeling which isn’t bad at all.

Only problem is the music that is awful and some of the sound effects are very grating too. You’ll want to put the game on mute.

Real player with 36.1 hrs in game

Basically this is reimagining of the Adventure of Lolo games with a few tweaks to make the puzzles more understandable while also layering on some new concepts. If you haven’t played those games, the learning curve here is a little steep, but there’s also a lot of helpful hints build into the game a fun character dialog. If you love the Lolo games this is a nostalgia trip. The game is weird, but pretty on the level compared to modern Sokobons like Steven’s Sausage Roll. I wish it had a rewind system, even if it was only active when no other enemies were in motion.

This game takes me back to being a little kid visiting the Atlantic City boardwalk. At the time they had “casinos” like these with fun games to play for tickets or tokens that could be cashed in for prizes. It probably cost my parents a small fortune to win items that would be dollar store quality today, but I loved the experience.

So step off the boardwalk into a tiny casino arcade. The coin pusher was my absolute favorite, and realistic to what I remember. I really like the overall feel and physics of that one. It feels the most authentic. Things like the stacker machine would have been after my time, but that was also realistic, at least compared to the ones I’ve played in VR.
